APEDA represents Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority. It is a government agency constituted under Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act, 1985, for the development and advancement of export of scheduled items. It is responsible to give monetary help, data, and rules for the development of schedule items. The items specified under the APEDA ACT are called schedule products and exporters of such scheduled products are required to be registered under APEDA. Registration Process of APEDA
For APEDA registration, an application would be made to Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. When the application duly filed and paid by the applicant, the authority would issue Registration -Cum- Membership- Certificate (RCMC). The applicant should mention the main line of commerce at the time of making an application for CMC with the goal that the same could be referred towards the relevant commodity board or Export promotion Council identifying to that line of commerce.
The application for registration will be made within a month from the date of undertaking of export. However, the Authority might for valid reason extends the time limit for looking APEDA registration for such period as it might think appropriate.
It registration is one-time registration and will be valid unless it is cancelled through the Authority. All the registered individuals are governed by the rules and regulations under the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act (APEDA ACT).
