The due date was extended by the CBDT relating to individuals whose accounts are needed to be audited.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) currently had extended the due date for filing of Income Tax Returns (ITR) as well as Tax Audit Reports (TAR) for special cases requiring audit reports from 30th September to 31st October.
The CBDT stated in a currently announced statement that on consideration of representations received by them from across the country, CBDT has finally settled on towards extending the due date for filing of ITRs and Tax Audit Reports from 30th September 2019 to 31st October 2019 relating to individuals whose accounts are required to be audited.
This has been a formal notification for the same shall be issued soon.
However, this category of ITR is required to be filed by those entities or enterprises that are assessed under section 44AB of the I-T Act such as corporations, partnership firms, and proprietorship amongst others as well as their accounts are required to be audited before filing.
Some categories of persons like a working partner in a corporation also come under this clause. The Central Board of Direct Taxes frames this type of policy for the income tax department.
