The Atalji Janasnehi Kendra Project was launched by the Government of Karnataka. The key objective of the project was to provide a variety of services towards the citizens through the Nadakacheri online portal. Nadakacheri portal furnishes a variety of services to the people like caste certificate, income certificate, land documents, agriculture documents as well as various Social Security Pensions.
Nadakacheri which is also known as the Atalji Janasnehi Kendra is a government scheme which is a part of the ‘Nemmadi Project’ of 2006, has been established only for the welfare of the people of the State of Karnataka. The project was originally commenced by the e-Governance department by means of the PPP Mode (i.e. Private Public Partnership) throughout the state in 802 Tele-centres, which was afterward taken over through the Karnataka Revenue Department because of lack of control over the private division of the project.
By means of this project, the Government of Karnataka wanted in making both the revenues as well as citizen services to be made available, translucent and reasonable to the common people in the Hobli level. The Nadakacheri portal is an outcome of such an initiative in the direction of making the service procedures more digitized and consistent for the citizens.
The Atalji Janasnehi Kendras was established in 769 centers in the Hobli level together with additional front offices inconsistent with the orders of the government. In the District level, the Deputy Commissioner of the State shall be responsible for the project as well as in the State level, there is the Atalji Janasnehi Directorate set up by the Revenue Department which shall monitor, facilitate and offer technical direction for the efficient execution of the project throughout the state.
