What is the Society Registration Act of 1860?

Before understanding what Society Registration in Uttar Pradesh is we know what Society is. Society is a non-profit organization established to do some work for the profit of society.   • During the process of registration, it is required to have the PAN Card of all the members of society.

  • Aadhar Card, Passport, Bank Statement

  • Residential proof of all members

  • Memorandum of Association which includes the member's names, and office registered address

  • A minimum of 3 members of the governing board must sign the XRules and Regulations.

  • Non-Objection Certificate

  • Cover letter which mentions the purpose of the formation of society

Eligibility Requirements for Society Registration in Uttar Pradesh

  • To form a society minimum of 7 members are required.

  • The members have common objectives.

  • Society must form to promote the welfare of the society and not make a profit for their benefit.

  • Members must have the legal capacity to enter into the contracts.

Registration Process for Society in Uttar Pradesh

Firstly, all the members have to decide and agree on the name of the society.

Then prepare the Memorandum of Society and the rules and regulations for the society.

The documents which are important and have to be submitted must signed by the member of the society.

 Affidavit of the president of the society about the relationships between the subscribers.

Address proof of the registered office.

Then apply to the Registrar of the society attested with the signed MOA, Society Rules, the affidavit declarations, and KYC Papers of the society’s Members.

The registration certificate takes time nearly a month to complete the process. After verification of the application, the registrar can approve the application or ask you for more information.

Society Registration Renewal in Uttar Pradesh

Society Registration renewal is the process where the appropriate government agency, society or non-profit organization can update their registration. Society registered under the Society Registration Act, of 1860 is valid only for 5 years, after which every society must renew itself. 

The starting renewal fee is Rs. 200 which can vary from state to state.

Renewal Process of Society Registration in Uttar Pradesh

1.  Application for renewal of a society registration in Uttar Pradesh includes the list of members of the governing body.

2. The Society registration certificate is renewed if the registrar has not relinquished it because of destruction, or loss.

3. During the online application form following details must be included for the renewal process:

  • The number of recent registration files

  • The group who wants to renew their identification

  • Contact details of all the applicants

4.    Submit the required documents after which when society registration is renewed the prior file number will be retained.
